Our mission is to make information and communication technology accessible to underserved communities around the world. We accomplish this mission by providing high-quality refurbished computers to non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
InterConnection is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
As a national organization that refurbishes and ships computers and laptops worldwide, we are focused on reuse instead of recycling, and are committed to the highest standards for clean, green computer recycling and disposing of parts and peripherals.
Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, InterConnection is the largest computer and electronics reuse organization in Washington State. It was established in 1999 by Charles Brennick, after the idea for InterConnection came out of Mr. Brennick's time working as an Ecotourism Developer in Costa Rica. He saw firsthand the benefits that access to technology, especially computers and the Internet, could give to remote organizations with limited resources.
InterConnection's original focus was on developing and donating websites to nonprofits in developing countries, and over 100 websites were donated. The program soon expanded to include computer donations and technology training. In 2004, the InterConnection Computer Reuse Center opened in Seattle, serving as a hub to provide computers and technology resources to local and international communities in need.
As a community based organization, InterConnection provides refurbished laptop and desktop computers to charitable organizations around the world. Our priority is always on reuse rather than recycling, and we turn old computers into new opportunities. The InterConnection donation program serves charities for the greater good, and keeps computer parts out of landfills to serve the environment. Donated laptops, PCs, and notebooks become tools for change, growth, and future possibilities.
