Bangladesh Relief Organization - The Development for the Poor

Introduction The Development for the Poor (DP) is a non-profit and non-governmental voluntary organization established in 1984 by the initiatives of a few committed individuals having substantial experience in grass roots development activities and voluntary efforts with a few local youths. The organization was conceived with the primary objective of assisting marginal farmers and the landless poor in improving their social and economic status through organization and the opportunity for them to undertake various income generating activities. Since its inception the DP has been maintaining the interest of distressed, helpless, and underprivileged men, women, and children of its project areas. Beside its normal program, the DP also responds to increased need during crisis situations such as floods, cyclones, draught, etc. when the economic situation becomes much worse.
