Founded in 1995, we are a voluntary initiative to influence a participatory, sustainable & replicable community development process in the Makueni district in the Eastern province Kenya.

FARD implements programming designed to promote self-sufficiency among the rural poor. We address community issues of food security, consistency of income, education, basic health, and HIV/AIDS. Our aim is to increase the community's capacity to organize and collectively address these concerns.

We gather knowledge and resources through a global network of support. FARD advocates sharing and equal access to information and resources within our local community. Through this approach we support effective interventions to the abject poverty experienced in this region.
